(yet) another online demonstration

Hope you’ve all had a good Bank Holiday weekend (if you’re in the UK) ? I can’t remember such a long spell of really good weather…anyway, I digress: I can now reveal the second of my commissioned video demos: I was really pleased to be invited to film an hour long( well, hour and a bit) online demonstration for the fab team at Calder Graphics.
The workshops I’ve been fortunate enough to run there have always been popular, & this seemed a great idea to help while they’re physically closed.
If anyone does decide to join in and have a go, I’ll be more than happy to cast my eye over the results, and furnish you with some feedback.

Here’s the link…just click on the image, then follow their link to get access to the demo….

A workshop!(two, actually)

I can’t tell you how delighted I am to share this news: in the midst of most emails cancelling or postponing all of my booked demos and workshops this summer, I’m over the moon to have confirmation this week that I will be running two full day workshops next June in one of the best venues it’s been my pleasure to be in…the fabulous Weavers factory in Uppermill.

26 or 27 June 2021 Line and wash workshops at The Weavers Factory

Full details are still being ironed out as I write, but at this stage, I’m collating a list of interested folk: so if you’d like to reserve a place on either of the two days please send me an email and I’ll add you to the list: places really are limited.

Booking is through me

Excited doesn’t cover it! Last October’s workshops were just amazing: it’s a superb venue for making art, so if you’re at all tempted…send that email now- : john@drawninyorkshire.com

Have look at their spiffy website which will give you an idea of what to expect:

There is a dedicated Weavers Factory workshop page on this site for more information, and to register your interest.

A cottage in Chapel Stile, Lake District : this is the finished result of an online demonstration which can be viewed on my Youtube channel.

Episode 1 of a 3 part video demo series

So, I can now reveal one of the projects I’ve been working on over the last few weeks: a specially commissioned online demonstration for the Stories in Stone initiative at the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust in Clapham … (The one near Settle in North Yorkshire- where Alan Bennett has a home- not the one in that London).
My planned workshop for them fell victim to the lockdown restrictions, so they asked me to create this in lieu of the actual event, and I’m delighted to see the first instalment of my recent commissioned demo has been released on theIr YouTube channel.
It’s been split into three easily digestible episodes, each about 20-25 minutes long, so you don’t need to suffer my mumbling commentary for too long!
If you fancy having a go, you can download a copy of the photo and a materials list from the link in the video description: you need to click the downward ‘more’ arrow after the video title to read this. I’ll be delighted to see the results: you can post them here in the comments section, or send me an email, & I’ll be more than happy to give you some ( constructive) feedback.

Stay tuned.😁

So, how are we all?

Here in the UK, we’re entering week eight of this lockdown thing, and eagerly anticipating the Prime Minister’s speech tonight: I suspect most will be disappointed that we’re not allowed to congregate freely, go to a pub, or have a nice meal in a restaurant: totally missing the point and seriousness of what we’re all experiencing. I’ll be pleased, though to visit the garden centre, if, as popularly predicted, they’re to be allowed to re -open.

Anyhow, enough of ( contentious) current affairs: I’ve been busy behind the scenes with a couple of nice commissions for a wedding anniversary gift- I’ll share them when they’ve been given- and also with the filing of some commissioned video demonstrations for two of my regular workshop venues. These are being edited by the teams at each venue, and as soon as I can, I’ll share them here. In the absence than of a new ‘JH’ demo, here’s a little sketchbook video tour that I just uploaded to my Youtube channel. the full description of what it is is on the video page……hope you enjoy it. Don’t forget to click ‘subscribe’ and the notification bell so you’ll be alerted as I add new content…and please do let me know if there’s anything you’d like to see more of?
