Oh, I do like to be beside the seaside……

……and I’ll be on the east coast of Yorkshire for this fabulous festival for a whole weekend in May : ArtWaves is back for 2020, taking over Bridlington’s signature venue Bridlington Spa and further afield for its sixth year on Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 May 2020.

I’ve been asked to do a demonstration, live, on the main stage on Saturday morning, which will be filmed and up on the big screen(!! – need to make sure my hair looks ok) and there’s a bookable workshop on Saturday afternoon…..all the information is on the Artwaves website:

www.artwaves.co.uk

The Saturday will be great, but I’m very excited that I’ve been asked to lead a couple of urban sketching sessions on the Sunday…as you may know, sketching is my first love, and what I’m happiest doing, so this is a real treat for me. There are two separate sessions – morning and afternoon – these do have a small nominal charge, , but you do need to register, using the links below

Afternoon Sessionhttps://artwaves.co.uk/workshops/?entry=20200531_urban_sketching_afternoon

Please note: these are not officially sponsored by the Urban Sketchers organisation, but they’re designed to give you a taste of sketching outside, with plenty of hints and tips…all you’ll need is a sketchbook of some sort, something to draw with…and plenty of sunscreen( yes, I am an optimist!!)

Updated workshop list…..

I just updated the workshop list, and given it its own page, as the previous post had been moved down the list…you can find it under the heading ‘workshops in 2020’ from the home page, or by clicking here…

As ever, please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you’re interested in any of the dates, and I’ll be delighted to help out…..

Here’s a group of (hopefully) happy artists after a workshop at Just Makers, Ripley castle last summer.

A new decade

Hardly seems possible that we’re here at the start of the twenties! Tempus really does fugit it seems. I have lots of plans for all sorts of new stuff, so I have a list,& high on that list is to overhaul and freshen up this site: I’ve made a start, of sorts, by deleting a lot of the older images on the other pages,& I’ll add newer work over the next few days.

As a start, here’s a really quick sketch I managed in between present wrapping on Christmas Eve. Happy New Year to you all
