So, I can now reveal one of the projects I’ve been working on over the last few weeks: a specially commissioned online demonstration for the Stories in Stone initiative at the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust in Clapham … (The one near Settle in North Yorkshire- where Alan Bennett has a home- not the one in that London).
My planned workshop for them fell victim to the lockdown restrictions, so they asked me to create this in lieu of the actual event, and I’m delighted to see the first instalment of my recent commissioned demo has been released on theIr YouTube channel.
It’s been split into three easily digestible episodes, each about 20-25 minutes long, so you don’t need to suffer my mumbling commentary for too long!
If you fancy having a go, you can download a copy of the photo and a materials list from the link in the video description: you need to click the downward ‘more’ arrow after the video title to read this. I’ll be delighted to see the results: you can post them here in the comments section, or send me an email, & I’ll be more than happy to give you some ( constructive) feedback.
Stay tuned.😁
I am really enjoying these demos, a great gift in this strange and stressful time. Thank you so much for sharing. Margaret
My Pleasure Margaret…parts 2 & 3 will be along shortly..
best wishes

Once again thank you John for this inspirational lesson, I will follow the next two sessions with anticipation and have a go myself.
I tried one of your previous drawing you did last year of the street in Grasmere with the telephone box.
Kind regards
Bruce
Excellent Bruce…I’d love to see your Grasmmere drawing?
John
Thank you John, very informative, inspiring and interesting to watch.
Thank you Sandra…..so glad you found it of use…

Thanks for another great online demo, John. I just had to try painting the scene after watching you draw/paint it. I enjoyed it and I am relatively happy with the outcome. I just need more familiarity with making confident brushstrokes!
